TOWARDS A BELGIAN DATABASE OF LANDOWNERSHIP (1842-1879)

images/fig4.jpg

Philip-Christian Popp published a cadastral Atlas of Belgium between 1842 and 1879. Today this work forms a first-rate source for anyone looking for hard information about property and landownership in the nineteenth century.

POPPKAD opens up this extensive groundwork for different research applications. This infrastructure is managed by the Quetelet Center of Ghent University and was developed in collaboration with Heemkunde West-Vlaanderen.

You'll find more information about the project on this website. You can consult the names of landowners in the Atlas here.
